If a company has a website of its own and wants to expand its traffic in the sense that it’s improving its websites traffic then social media is a good way to do so. Online networking could help the company improve its insight on their marketing by knowing more about the specific product the company is dealing with rather than having to write reports which could cost a large sum of money. This could also help the company get feedback from the consumer about their product and services. Social media could help the company generate sales lead for the company. It can reach out to a large number of audiences and create long term relationships. Through social media companies can develop loyal fans through the efforts it makes. When people complain about a certain product of the company the company should take note that many people are seeing these complaints, how the company responds to these complaints is crucial because it could directly affect the person complaining and the audience will see this. However social media has its negative approaches. Employees are given access to company equipment mainly computers and internet in order to complete their work effectively. Even though it is a main concern to management and corporate executive officers that employees spend time on these website while at work instead of working. (Wilson, 2009). Computer serves can only process so much information at one time and this could slow down the system having to look at how many people are online within the company. ‘Employers have the right to be hold employees responsible for such conduct if the posting are used to ‘attack the company’ or ‘harass co-workers’. (Breslin, 2009). Mainly what brings about a bad image to the company is that when employees are frustrated or angry towards management they tend to take it out online and it’s not good for the company.
